Acne Treatment / Acne Scar Treatment
63Naturally, we all want smooth and flawless skin. While some of us are blessed with naturally great skin, some of us suffer from acne. Acne causes bumps on the skin and craters that sink into the skin surface. This can cause a great deal of embarrassment and discomfort. Luckily, there are creams for acne scar treatment and acne scar removal.
The vast majority of people suffer from acne at some point in their lives. After the acne spots heal, they can leave a dark spot. This can take 6 to 12 months to fade back to the colour of the skin. Some people's scars never fade and become permanent acne scars. To help you look better and regain smooth skin, the following treatments are available:
1. Topical medicated creams. These are usually ex foliating creams with alpha hydroxy acids and Retin A. Some also contain lightening agents such as vitamin C or hydroquoinone.
2. Injectable treatments. These fill the craters caused by acne scars. Collagen or fat are injected under the skin and reduce the depressions.
3. Laser Treatment. There are two types of lasers that are used to treat acne. The carbon dioxide laser tightens collagen fibers on the surface of the skin. The YAG laser is used to reduce scarring left behind from acne.
4. Punch Graft. This is only used on very bad or very deep acne scars. This is a more invasive procedure in which a piece of skin from behind the ear is used to replace the scarred skin.
5. Chemical Peel. This is used to reduce small acne scars and also works well on blackheads and white, heads. This has to be repeated in order to completely reduce scarring and acne.
6. Dermabrasion. This can reach the deep layers of the skin, deeper than a chemical peel. This is used by people with deep or hypertrophic acne scars.
